THE NAME “MYRON”

In the Christian Orthodox tradition, every human being is baptized at an early age. In the baptism service, it is oil that transfers the grace of God to the child who is being baptized. This oil is known as “MYRO”. It is a symbol of protection, flexibility and regeneration for every baptised child, for his entire life.

The name “MYRON” also comes from the Greek idea of Myro (myrrh) as an aromatic, sweet oil – the best and most carefully chosen of all oils!
